Tebtebba Resource Center



Tebtebba Resource Center is a specialized library on indigenous peoples and their concerns. Our resources deal with indigenous peoples' rights and human rights, education, environment, economic and social development, culture, health, gender. Our collection ranges from books, pamphlets, periodicals, conference papers, documents to audiovisuals such as CDs and tapes.

We have a complete collection on relevant United Nations conventions and bodies including the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations (UNWGIP), Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Included also are resources on world summits and conferences such as the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD), the World Conference Against Racism (WCAR), Beijing +10 Review.

To date we have 4,137 titles of books and pamphlets alone. All our materials are recorded in the computer using the OPAC (Online Public Access Cataloging) through the Computerized Documentation System – Integrated Set of Information System (CDS-ISIS)developed by United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It is an advanced non-numerical information storage and retrieval used mostly by libraries of universities and schools for easy retrieval of materials.

Our library caters to all for free. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 9 am to 12nn on Saturdays.
