Launched in November 2008 in time for the International Technical Workshop on Indicators Relevant for Indigenous Peoples held in Baguio City, Philippines on 17-19 November, this resource book hopes to encourage more people to contribute to the work of developing indicators relevant to indigenous peoples.
This work on indicators "is not simply a response to the seemingly voracious appetite for information of national and international statistics institutions. It is an effort to show the reality of indigenous peoples' situations by using facts and figures, in a way that exposes discrimination, inequality and denial of human rights. It is a way of putting indigenous peoples' issues and concerns in the agenda."
